Ocean Home works alongside the Belize Whale Shark Foundation to better protect the beautiful local species of the Indian and Atlantic Ocean. Our hope is to create a better home for the animals of the sea, while also creating new eco-friendly housing for everyone. The Belize Whale Shark Foundation is committed to teaching people the importance and wonders of the sea and all that live in it, striving to be the figurehead in the world's ocean rejuvenation projects.

WHALE SHARK RESCUE
Whale Shark Rescue is one of our primary initiatives. Every day, these magnificent animals are put in danger by the activities of thoughtless fishermen and boaters.
DYNAMITE FISHING

The Whale Shark's greatest enemy is, without doubt, humans. Dynamite fishing is devastating. Practiced in Asia it is responsible for more Whale Shark deaths than almost anything else.

WHALE SHARK STUDY

We want to be able to offer cutting-edge research facilities for Marine Biologists and those dedicated to studying the migration, breeding, and life cycle of the Whale Shark.

Our goal is to support the set-up of research facilities right in the hub of Whale Shark territory, beginning with Belize.
NET ACCIDENTS​

Many Whale Sharks get tangled in nets every year. This can cause great distress, pain, and in some cases, death.
SOLUTION
​
Our Foundation intends to set-up a quick response group that is able to help facilitate the release of the Whale Shark as well as the education of local fishermen on what to do if this happens.
WHALE SHARK STUDY
​
Many marine animals are being killed, maimed, and tortured by plastics left in the ocean. Whale Sharks have been found with intestines full of plastic bags. This is just not acceptable. We have the resources, we just need the will!
SOLUTION
​
Remove the plastic, educate the public, and give marine life a chance of life without threat from our careless throw-away generation.

Your donations will go toward expenses to build, operate, and maintain recycling plants in locations across the globe. Each day, volunteers will pick up thousands of pounds of ocean waste and bring it back to our recycling centers, where the trash will then be manipulated into building blocks. Not only does your donation remove plastic from the ocean, but it also goes toward building houses for locals in those countries of need.
